Welcome! If you're not great at meeting show deadlines and want to qualify your horses, this is for you!

Rules

• 2 Images that are at minimum-full body and shaded with a background will qualify your (1) horse 

• You do not need to have an Arabian/Arabian cross to participate- anyone can join in! 

• Role Playing Literature is encouraged but cannot take the place of an image 

• Please credit your references and use stock appropriately! 

• You can choose to do any of the course options below or make your own. They're just prompt suggestions!

Meet Your Trainer: Ashleigh Keith is one of the most experienced Arabian and Half-Arabian riders at Sweet Song Arabians and Warrior Fields Equestrian Center. She works with a variety of ages at different stages of training. She not only is a show rider but also believes that ground work is the best start for any showing partnership and has studied different methodologies for creating a strong working bond between human and horse. She'll focus on communication with and without tack, body language, and confidence building relationships to help riders and handlers of any discipline prepare for the Arabian Nationals.

Western Clinic

Meet your trainer: Sydney was born and raised on a Texas ranch, Sydney has extensive background in handling, raising, and training western performance horses. Coming off the ranch from working from sun up until sun down on horseback, Sydney now trains for the western string of RidgeRunner Stables, located in Mid-Missouri.Sydney has handled numerous "problem" horses as well as finished the high-end reining horses and cutting horses. He's not about becoming a horse's best friend, but rather form a relation of respect.

Meet your trainer: Tequila comes from the same ranch as her older brother. Tequila has been around horses her whole life as well. Rather than the training aspect, Tequila specializes in showing and preparation for shows. She can shine up a gangly, pasture ornament into a gleaming gem for the ring. She's got the fashion sense to really make a pair catch the judge's attention.

• Stock Collection vs. Pleasure Horse Collection; the differences and similarities - Sydney Transitioning to a Curb Bit; it's not a weapon, it's a tool - Sydney

• Keeping Gaits True; performing pure gaits in a western pleasure class - Sydney

• Grooming Perfection; hair extensions, oil, hoof polish, etc. - Tequila

• Bling for the Ring; Picking proper colors and bling to bring out the best in the ring - Tequila

Dressage Clinic

Meet your trainer: Valerie Copper is an experienced dressage rider and competitor, who is keeping busy this year as an Arabian National's official dressage trainer. She knows and teaches a great number of dressage movements, and combinations. All though her primary breeds are not Arabians, she's worked with them in past and understands their mental and physical state, so she'll definitely not ask too much or too little of your horse. If you're just a beginner or already an experienced rider, don't hesitate to take few of her lessons; you might still get some knowledge and experience you'd lack otherwise! Besides lessons you can also apply for a full clinic at Black Cross Stable: before the Nationals, or anytime of the year. 

Course Options:

• Beginner/Intermediate: Standing still, greeting the judges, transitions from walk to trot (main focus on this). Transitions from trot to canter, extended trot. Direction chances in canter and flying changes.

• Advanced: Pirouette in trot and canter and Piaffe

Show Jumping Clinic

Meet your trainer: Luther is an experienced riding instructor and Show-Jumping. He has an extensive background in Show-Jumping specifically, coming off of the European Show-Jumping Olympic team a few years ago. Since leaving the team, he has taken a instructor position and spends most of his time coaching his students and a private team of English competition riders. Additionally, he also oversees the training and management of numerous breeds, including his stables prized Arabian horses. Don't let his gruff exterior bother you. He focuses on training the rider just as much as the horse and will be focusing on groundwork as well as collection, stamina, planning your stride and the physics of jumping. Plus plenty of practice. For anyone wanting further lessons, he's available at Whittemore Estate.
